People do keep a look out for loners and make an effort to snicker at them and make them feel unwelcome in cinemas. You're in that auditorium and about a hundred people are all staring at you, like in those Smile movies. And you're there screaming at them "STOP LOOKING AT MEEEE!!!" Even the staff are plotting against you. All of these people are conspiring and collaborating together to ensure you're publicly exposed as the loser that you really are because you thought you could get away with entering the premises unaccompanied. Cinemas are for socialising, like a night club, nothing else! They should hire bouncers to keep out the loner riff-raff.

There's usually plenty of people around you in the cinema, so you're not really alone in there.
