TownerFan 5,238
Come on, the man is almost 83 years-old, it could be a temporary illness like a bad flu or something else that prevents him from doing such (very demanding) physical activities like traveling and conducting. At that age, if you aren't more than fit, any doctor will suggest you to rest and avoid any stressful activities for the body until you're fully recovered. Balahkay 629
I doubt they would call it a minor temporary health issue if it was more serious. They stated it in that way so people don't freak out. I guess it didn't work. :-\ Anyway, there's no point belaboring this issue. It is what it is. #SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,430
KM, John Williams may not have dictated that message. It was probably his agents. Also, he is a deeply private man.
Balahkay 629
Cigarette and cigar smoking affects people differently, too. I know people who have smoked heavily for decades and they have a clean bill of health. Luck or good genes, I'm not sure. In any case, we don't know the medical history and issues of either man. Thor 8,445
JW smokes cigarsHe used to. I believe he stopped a long time ago.He did.To me, he seems to be more healthy than most 83-year-olds I've known. At that age, my own grandfather (who passed away in 2011 at age 85) was hardly mobile. Williams, on the other hand, has LONG walks every day. I wish John Williams the best. My sympathy to those who bought tickets and aren't able to see him perform. Total bummer.
