The prices? Well you get the score AND parts for all the concert band/marching band/chamber ensemble stuff. Haha I didn't know all this would be such a big deal or else I would have brought it up motnhs ago!

Hm, is this news? "More HL Stuff" sounds like there'd been recent noteworthy additions, but apart from one or two titles, the list is been in this form for quite some time... :)

I had never seen this,so it's new to me.There's Voldermort's theme and nice versions of Monica's Theme too bad about the beeps. They must have forgot to put beeps for the football theme ...great

We need a debleeper

That's not too hard to do with Audacity. It would just take a while to do to every piece. Just use the "Noise Removal" Effect, and this tone as the noise profile.

I also like the different Soundtrack Highlights at the end of the list.

also some cool versions of the Love Theme from The Patriot

whew! we were really lucky.hurray for Frosty.

All of this would make an amazing ipod playlist for not the bleeps

Can anyone actually try the Audacity debleeping method?

So is someone from Hal Leonard reading this board or what? We discover this piece - the day after there are bleeps all over the place.

By the way, are there any other pieces that don't have bleeps on them yet?

I'm working on it, but like I said, it may take a while.

I've got to run to class here pretty soon, but later when I get back I explain in more detail how to do it.

They probably noticed the sudden increase of John Williams downloads.

Alright, here's how to remove beeps.

First, you need audacity. If you don't already have it, you can get it at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/.

I would recommend getting the 1.3.2 Beta version, but the 1.2.6 stable release will work as well. (My instructions will be from the Beta though).

Open Audacity, and then open the piece that you want to remove the beeps from. Then use File/Import/Audio to import the beep sound. (this)

Click on the lower track (the beep tone) and then click the |<< arrow button on the tool bar to move the selection point to the beginning.

Then go to Edit/Select/Cursor to End. This will select all of the beep tone.

Then go to Effect/Noise Removal. When that pops up, click Get Noise Profile.

You only have to do that part once per piece.

Then you have to select a section that has the beep. I would zoom in and try to be as accurate as possible. You obviously don't want to miss part of the beep, but the Noise Removal does make it lose quite a bit of quality, so you don't want to do it to any more than you have to.

Once you have selected just the area that has the beep, go to Effect/Noise Removal again.

Move the slider almost all the way to None. This is a powerful tool, and you don't need it very strong.

Click Ok, and that's it. Repeat for all the beeps in the piece.

Note that it still will not sound perfectly smooth, but it won't be very noticeable any more, and it will be WAY better than those annoying beeps. Also note that if you are using the old version of Audacity, the location of some of the commands may be different than what I say since I am going by the beta version.

When when you are finished with the piece, be sure to close the track for the beep. Just click on the x in it's top left corner. If you don't do this, you will simply add a beep to the beginning of the piece.

Then go to File/Export As/mp3 (assuming you want an mp3 format). You will need the LAME mp3 codec if you don't already have it. http://lame.sourceforge.net/index.php

Hopefully this isn't too confusing. (I don't know how many people here use audacity very often.) Any questions, just ask.

Ok, my first full attempt is done. The Raiders march. Let me know if anyone wants it.

Also, I figured out a somewhat easier/ends up sounding better way to do it.

After you've gotten the Noise Profile, go ahead and close the beep tone track (the one on the bottom).

Then go to Tracks/Add New/Stereo Track.

Ctrl/A (select all) the first track, then Ctrl/V (paste) the whole thing into the new track you just made.

Ctrl/A on the new track, and do the Noise Removal on the whole thing.

Then mute the lower track. Select the beep in the first track and go to Edit/Selection Save.

Go to the second track and do Edit/Selection Restore. Copy that. Selection restore on the first track. Paste there. Repeat for all beeps. Otherwise the same process.

Am I understanding correctly from the rules that you can link to a page that has the link, but you can't just give the link itself on the forum? If so:

link removed

Now don't be expecting it to sound perfect, but it's better anyway.

It's quite good.I faintly heard some but on my ipod I probably wouldn't. Do you think you degraded the rest of the MP3 with all thos manipulations?

Any time you edit an mp3 you will lose a tiny bit of quality, but it doesn't become noticeable until multiple times of editing it.

If anyone else wants it, PM me.
