The Custom Covers Thread

Recommended Posts

Well, as was requested, and a good i dea, lets post our original covers in one thread (Marc, you could make this sticky) so they are more easy to find. Here are mine: (some need to be updated - Casino royale comes to mind, i'll do it soon)

I apologize by the small size of most of them. Photobucket has downsized the size of the pics you can upload.

I also apologize of some covers that are very cheap. I was not very inspired those days... And the oldest covers are very unprofessional...

But printed more or less they look decent.

As far as I know neither Jaws, Jaws 3 and Jaws The Revenge were released by Varese.

And the Jaws 2 release has the old red Varese spine, which does not match with what you have designed.

Ah of course, that why i had Jaws 2 saved somewhere too! Uploading

Is anyone interested in some 200x200 "covers" I did as illustration for my MP3s? I've got a couple of nice ones.

BTW: I really like those Jurassic Park ones!

Manuel, maybe you should re-think the way the tracklist apears on the 007 covers... I don't think it reads that well...

Also, the covers for the Jaws saga could have been better balanced, even while adapting the Jaws 2 concept.

My two cents...

Yeah the Casino royale are too compresed...

And the jaws ones... If anyone can help me with the 'credits' i could expand it and fro 3D would be fine. Shame 4 has that short tracklist...

And i suppose i can enlarge the picture too.

I'm going to check my backup CDs and see if i can 'salvage' some old covers i have made over the years.

Far & Away Complete score

Just one thought, as I plan to do my own Far and Away covers...

I imagine you used the titles lettering as an image. For the best result, one should get the same font and re-do the whole thing.

 I know. But either they are hard to find or you must buy them :sigh:

I should do my screengrabs too and not get crappy jpegs from the net ;)

You should... one of the things in which I spend more time, is getting the right images...

I've done some custom covers for myself but the ones I've done I'm going to go back and redo them. I just had "Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" but when I go to print them up I want to be able to distinguish complete scores from OST's. So I'll be going back and redoing everything and adding "Complete Motion Picture Soundtrack". When I get them done I'll post em' here.

In my opinion you should loose the image between the track list for each disc... it too much, and only helps to create confusion to the reader. Visual trash.

You also gain space to enlarge the text.

indyfront.jpg

Maybe you should try to merge the bottom of the drawing with the white background, a sort of fade out...

1- I cannot change that cover, i did not make it...In fact i'm not a fan of it, I did not like the usage of the indy font in everything but i didnt feel like doing covers if i already had them XD. And when i got Last crusade i just copied the syle.

I liked the picture between the tracklist just because with it i discovered that Drew struzan had made a Raiders poster ;)

2- Oh, i know what you mean. At the time i could not find that poster in its complete form without text. I'll see what i can do if i have the time...

Here are my Star Wars Prequel covers in the same style as the Sony re-release of the Original Trilogy. The Sony covers were accused of being bad Photoshop jobs. Mine really ARE bad Photoshop jobs.

I still need to make the back covers one day. ROTFLMAO

sw_ep2_cover.jpg

sw_ep3_cover.jpg

And also some small ones for as graphics for MP3s (iTunes). I especially like the Lair one. The PotC ones and The Mummy Returns are not mine.
