The Custom Covers Thread

Recommended Posts

I'm bored, any requests?
How about a series of similar-styled covers for all the Star Wars scores, including also video game scores,

such as The Force Unleashed, Knights of the Old Republic, Knights of the Old Republic II, and Shadows of the Empire?

Sounds interesting. Rpvee, what is it you're after?

This probably won't appeal to most, but I thought I'd throw it up anyway. An attempt to do something a bit different.

Where'd you get that track list, Charlie--is that from a DVD rip, an actual boot, make-believe, or what?

Very nice. I like the back cover image a lot.

My only issue is with the placement of text. It seems a bit out of balance, and doesn't seem to fit with the layout at the moment. But solve that and you're golden.

I suppose you mean the goldsmith and co. text.

the final cover i made was full of text i could not put it anywhere (on the right side oc courage and co goes the * performed by, ** performed by... etc.

Layout and placement of text is always one of the things I find hardest when designing a cover. It can be a nightmare with some covers, and sometimes you just have to decide what's important to put on there without affecting the overall look :)

Here's one I just had a bit of fun with (need to fix the Columbia logo on the spines though).

Absolutely awesome job! Thanks very much! :D

Not sure, when I find time to do the backs (especially since the track-listings will most probably vary, depending on what you put on your expanded sets).
If you make them without tracklistings at all, people can just add their own on top. :)

Damn it... they totally revamped the official site for The Matrix. I wanted to download some of the photos from there so I could redo my covers for all three Matrix scores. I can't right click and save the photos in the gallery section any more like I used to. Does anyone know how to work around that? They use adobe flash player...and the site is http://www.whatisthematrix.com

Charlie the First Contact cover looks good however, your First Contact score for the first disc isn't complete. It should be 30 tracks not 28.

01. Main Title

02. Locutus

03. The Enterprise-E

04. Battle Watch

05. Red Alert

06. Temporal Wake

07. April 4th, 2063

08. The Phoenix

09. First Sign Of Borg

10. 39.1 Degrees Celsius

11. Approaching Engineering

12. Retreat

13. The Borg Queen

14. Assimilation

15. Welcome Aboard

16. The Gift Of Flesh

17. Definitely Not Swedish

18. Watch Your Caboose, Dix

19. Fully Functional

20. The Dish

21. Bridge Argument

22. A Quest For Vengeance

23. Evacuate

24. The Escape Pods

25. All The Time

26. The Starship Chase

27. Resistance Is Futile!

28. Victory Over The Borg

29. First Contact

30. End Credits

Main Title and Locutus should be two separate tracks. What's presented on the OST are actually alternates especially for Locutus. You're missing "All The Time" too.

I did some quick simple covers for my Jurassic Park III score. I reinserted the missing bits from the rear channel DVD rips and some tracks go into each other just like in the film.

Does anybody still have those John Takis & Ricard Temple of Doom covers they made for that VHS rip, in full quality? I'd like to use it for my personal covers.

I have finally finished up my own custom covers for the complete scores for The Matrix Trilogy. I've edited quite a few of the cues from all three scores to run into each other like they do in the film in case if anyone was curious about that. I've definitely nailed down resizing things properly now.

These are of course not the full size ones, I think photobucket has resized them.

Looks very good. But isn't it rather similar to the real OST, apart from the reddish background?

Its the original poster, without the oversized Vader mask mad in 'post-production'

And the text layout fits EpII.

Which i think, i will make EPI and the OT to match that :happybday:

I have to say, I think the original is better. Using that poster is a great concept, as the image is better, but it looks muddled the way Vader's face is masked (pun intended) by the Star Wars logo.

I can's change that, as the helmet is not complete and i cannot lower the picture.... And if i move the Star Wars title... goodbye continuity... Anyway, Anakin is almost completely covered in AOTC cover...

Cool! Any chance you could do "Shadows of the Empire" and "The Force Unleashed" in the same style?

I love having matching covers for all scores. :)

I couldnt find the struzan shadows of the empire poster without titles :)

i'll see if i can do something

Something I knocked up based on the original ESB LP cover:

esb_archival.jpg

esbarchival_tray_large.jpg

Not great, but due to it being a book cover, the style of the painting is completely different to the posters, so it doesn't have the black border etc, and all efforts to do so looked terrible.

"Original Videogame Soundtrack"?

Yeah, I know. I was trying to figure out what to put above the title, and went from 'Original Novel Soundtrack' to 'Original Media Project Soundtrack'. So instead, I just went for the video game. It just seemed to fit better, even if it is incorrect.
