I think people here are becoming a little too obsessed with semantics minutiae. ;)

Let's get the torches and the plastic explosives and start a terrorist march to the Concorde tower, i say. Shoot first, ask later :)

Well, since I have some time to kill right now, I'm trying to put down the potential track list for Temple of Doom and Last Crusade expanded (not complete) versions. For the former I'll use track titles from the John Takis cue-by-cue analysis, while for the latter I'll use track titles from the OST and the bootleg

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Expanded Edition - This is a just speculation, NOT the actual track list!

1. Anything Goes (2:49)

2. Deal for the Diamond */Too Much to Drink * (6:20)

3. Fast Streets of Shanghai (3:39)

4. Over the Himalayas * (3:23)

5. Slalom on Mt. Humol (2:22)

7. "They Stole the Children" * (2:54)

8. Fortune and Glory */Short Round's Theme (3:15)

9. The Legend of Sankara */Trek to Pankot Palace * (4:13)

10. Nocturnal Activities (5:53)

11. Bug Tunnel and Death Trap (3:28)

12. The Temple of Doom (2:58)

13. Stealing the Stones * (2:32)

14. Children in Chains (2:42)

15. A True Believer * (5:45)

16. Slave Children's Crusade (3:22)

17. Underground Heroics * (4:40)

18. The Mine Car Chase (3:38)

19. Water! */Cliff Confrontation * (4:39)

20. "You Betrayed Shiva!" */The Troops Arrive * (4:01)

21. Finale and End Credits (film version) * (8:51)

Total time: 78:42 -- This would be a neat presentation, with all the best unreleased tracks

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Expanded Edition -- This is just a speculation, NOT the actual track list!

01. Indy's Very First Adventure (08:11)

02. Circus Train * (03:38)

03. Portuguese Coast, 1938 * (02:14)

04. The Diary of Professor Jones * (02:19)

05. Journey to Venice / X Marks The Spot (03:07)

06. Ah, Rats!!! (03:38)

07. Escape From Venice (04:21)

08. To Castle Brunwald * (00:39)

09. The Two Joneses * (02:05)

10. Elsa's Betrayal * (01:58)

11. Scherzo for Motorcycle and Orchestra (03:49)

12. No Ticket (02:42)

13. Leaving The Zeppelin * (01:24)

14. Keeping Up With the Joneses (03:36)

15. Reunited With Sallah / The Tank (01:54)

16. Belly of the Steel Beast (05:26)

19. Canyon of the Crescent Moon (04:15)

20. Professor Jones is Shot / The Penitent Man Will Pass * (02:51)

21. The Name of God / A Leap of Faith (03:22)

22. The Keeper of the Grail (03:21)

23. Donovon's Death / The Power of the Grail * (04:27)

24. Finale and End Credits (Raiders March) (10:36)

Total Time: 79:50 -- Yes, a wealth of great stuff would still be missing, but it would be cool to have a fully crammed CD like this one.

And in case someone still thinks this is the real deal: This is just a speculation, NOT the actual track list!

If that's the music that would be included then I can live with whatever is left off.

I'd be happy with that presentation.

Let me add one more thing, it's been suggested that if TOD & LC are released seperately they will only be the original albums and the expanded will only be in the box set.

That would be a bad decision and a waste of money on Concord's behalf. I think they have better business sense than that. It ain't gonna happen that way.

I'm worried they're going to botch the remastering and sound mix to make it sound more like KOTCS, which had something rather tinny about it, which was pretty bothersome to me.

I think it's one of Murphy's better recordings.

I'm still waiting for more confirmation other than a badly worded press release before I flip out about ToD and LC possibilities. But I'm more optimistic than I ever have been.

KOTCS's recording sounds fine to my ears.

Actually I take back what I said, the LC album must have the complete version of "Belly Of The Steel Beast".

Actually the complete version of "Belly of the Steel Beast" is somewhat a mystery. It appears that Williams originally scored a shorter version of that sequence, but then the scene was re-edited and expanded, so he has to rewrite some portions in order to accomodate the new edit. It was reported that no less than three different versions of that cue actually exist and, if I'm correct, what is heard on the film soundtrack is an edit of those.

I've always understood that the cue on the OST is the original verision, and the unreleased portion in the middle is the extention recorded later.

I am really hoping the kiss scene in the castle where the Joneses are tied will be there. The best romantic music by JW ever.

There are two versions of the insert, though. Only one has surfaced on a bootleg; the film version is missing. The film version of "The Birds of Charlemagne" is also nowhere to be found.

Unless TOD and LC are 2 disc sets there is bound to be good stuff that will be left off. Especially considering the last 30 minutes of each movie are pretty much non-stop music. Right from the moment Short Round frees Indy from the black sleep, the music for TOD is non stop (it stops for maybe 2 minutes during the mine car sequence) and in LC it begins at the tank sequence and doesn't stop. that's like almost 30 minutes of continuous score for both movies.

Correction: LC stops when indy goes over the cliff. Until he climbs up and hugs Henry Sr. Probably 90 seconds of non-score. It stops again when Indy and Co. are held at gunpoint by Donovan. Probably 2 minutes.

Harry Potter expanded/complete

SW Prequels expanded/complete

Hook complete

Family Plot

Hey Jeff Bond at FSM even thinks Tod and LC might be complete

Star Wars and Hook are the Holy Grails. I'd say Indy comes just behind Star Wars, and Hook after that. For that reason I don't think we will EVER receive complete Star Wars scores.

Hmmm...I suppose. But that will be 10 years away at least.

He has no knowledge outside of what we already know though.

Are these going to be more in the fashion of the Special Edition Phantom Menace?

I think that is a great unedited album

If only the wording was not so ackward:

Included are expanded and remastered versions of Raiders of the Lost Ark, and exclusive to this set: Indiana Jones & The Temple Doom, and Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade.

What kind of sentence is that!

if you take time to read it through it's borderline acceptable .It's an older code, but it checks out...

plus it fits with the other sentence

"all will rejoice in having ALL these soundtrackS presented together EXPANDED with previously unreleased music "

they cannot screw up in the paragraph twice and I don't think they can all be typos

I am just happy we're getting EXPANDED releases! Even if they're not COMPLETE, this is still one of the best news ever. I just hope the sound quality is better than the OS of Last Crusade.

Expanded ToD 1 c.d. can be pulled off decently

I'm more worried about Last Crusade

But a few months ago we were pretty sure they would not be expanded at all

Does anyone know how many minutes of music we have of the 3 original Indy movies?

Temple and Crusade both have over 90 minutes of music, right? So, unless we get 2 CDs for each score, they can't be complete!

For a while anyway, but after that.

What is there left to want, or to hope for?

Well if you live outside the world of John Williams there is plenty to wish for.

And welcome.

Thanks! :)

I am becoming more and more interested in this bonus CD with Williams talking about the scores.

I still can't believe we get a CD with just an interview! I mean, it's great, but it seems like a joke to me. Has this ever been done before? And do you think it will be a new interview, or just snippets of old interviews?

Indeed. I've found a lot of other recently releases from Intrada, FSM and Varese to be a bit more enjoyable and more exciting.

If you go to the main page and click on Filmography and then click on each Indiana Jones film there is a breakdown of all the cues and running times in the films. It will give you an idea of how much music there is.

I feel the need to clarify what KM mentioned earlier, at FSM Jeff Bond's exact words were: "But I'm betting the other two sequel scores are expanded and possibly complete too." (emphasis mine) He's pretty much in the same place as the rest of us. If Concord needs someone to write a press release that won't deluge us with ambiguity, I'll happily volunteer. :)

You beat me to it, I was going to clarify the remarks as well.

I'm curious to see the time for the tracks for Raiders. That might answer some questions as to how much music they will release. I have a feeling we're not going to get the complete Well Of Souls cue as found on the double LP.

The limited box set has me thinking 2 disc sets for TOD & LC but I'm more convinced they will be expanded only.

So what if Raiders is an "Ultimate Edition" extracted straight from the film stems? That means half of "The Miracle of the Ark" edited out and the Raiders March tracked into "Indy Rides the Statue."

...

OH NO I DIDN'T!

If I recall "Last Crusade" has longer stretches of non score than "Temple" has. There are quite a few Talky parts in LC. Let's hope we don't get silly source music cues like "Donovan's Dinner Party".
