indy4 160 Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 I first heard of him from the CR, and I assumed he was somehow associated with the making of LOTR. However, I recently got several Film Score Monthly Podcasts and found he was a speaker on them. So what's his proffesional? Something like "film music analysis" or something???
Maurizio 6,913 Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 He's one of the main staff writers for Film Score Monthly magazine. He's also a free-lance music journalist and a composer too. He was brought on board on the LOTR Complete Recordings project by Howard Shore himself. He's also an extremely clever and nice guy.
David Coscina 4 Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Doug is more of an idea than an entity. He is all around us in various guises and forms. Just kidding. He's a super nice fellow that works harder than anyone I know.
Morlock 12 Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 He's the one writer (aside from Jeff Bond, who has all but dissapeared) that keeps FSM a reputable magazine.
indy4 160 Posted October 5, 2007 Author Posted October 5, 2007 So he doesn't really have one main job - he just does whatever he can to improve the world of soundtracks?
John Takis 394 Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 http://www.acoustimedia.com/about.htmAnd buy his CD! It has great production design!
