It's Exodus - a piece composed in between 1979/1981 by Wojciech Kilar  A very good piece indeed, there is only a short snippet of it in the trailer.

Finally I know I wasn't dreaming all these years, that's what I heard in a TV spot a long time ago.

So it was Kilar....probably the temp track and why Williams score kinda sounds like it

Williams name is absent from the trailer credits...if this was 1993 we'd be worried he wouldn't score it.

Well according to the Soundtrack.net trailer music database the piece in the trailer is Wojciech Kilar's "Exodus". Soundtrack.net

EDIT:

You beat me to it Neimoidian

Drat, my bad then. It does sound very "Schindler's Workforce". Wonderful cue though.

I've known since 1993 that the trailer music was by Kilar. I thought it was common knowledge...

Yeah, it does indeed sound like Schindler's Workforce.

No doubt JW got his inspiration from this piece. But the melody is not the same at all!!!

or if zimmer would do it...

Imagine the richness and complexity Zimmer would bring to the film...a two note rising and descending motif as the principle theme for Schindler, perhaps!

And a few metal clangs and trumpet flurrys from Horner

Melange - Likes Horner and his clangs and flurrys.

Don't forget the four note danger motif for the Auchwitz-Birkenau sequence.

Jeez, that's memories. I seem to remember hearing that a heck of a lot back in 93'. Wasn't it also used for and during the Oscar campaign?
