Charlie Brigden 7 Posted December 15, 2009 Author Posted December 15, 2009 Elfman has been replaced on Wolfman.Fixed! Thanks.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Mancini's Santa Claus: The Movie is now available for pre-order from SAE. Limited to 1,000 copies. Hedji mentioned it in the Best Christmas Music thread, but I think the news should be spread around. I know some people have been waiting for it. Release date is scheduled for late December.
Ollie 1,375 Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Unfortunately it's just a re-issue of the original album, songs included. But it may be the only way to get the album at this time. I was hoping one of the labels would get a chance to do an expanded version.

Not going to add it to the list unless it slips into 2010, though. But it's good to spread this kind of news around without necessarily having to start a new thread (not that some releases don't deserve them).Have added HIGH ROAD TO CHINA.
Kendal_Ozzel 36 Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Great idea for a sticky!Looking further ahead, we'll have Arnold's The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Newman's Toy Story 3 (CD release questionable), Menken's Rapunzel, Debney's Iron Man 2, Daft Punk's Tron Legacy, and Craig Armstrong's Clash of the Titans.Oh, and of course, Williams' Deathly Hallows: Part 1. Right?

Right? At the moment, this is too much to hope for, and I, for one, am not crossing my fingers, legs, or any other part of my body that I can physically cross. It would be nice, tho', wouldn't it..?Elfman's "Alice In Wonderland" (the only version to spell this correctly, as it's a sequel!) will be well worth investigating, but it's such a shame about "Wolfman".

Charlie Brigden 7 Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 Added a couple, including Shore's EDGE OF DARKNESS, which will be an on-demand CD-R release.
Charlie Brigden 7 Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 Updated with a few more including ALICE IN WONDERLAND and a couple of UK-issue Mancini records.
Ravi Krishna 132 Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I wonder if Alice In Wonderland has some songs like Narnia, that could probably help it get a CD release.
Jacob 1 Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Just found out about this, and haven't seen it mentioned anywhere on the board yet...Alan Silvestri is slated to score the A-Team movieThat could be a lot of fun.
Diego 21 Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 If Alice in Wonderland is donwload only I'll be pissed.

QMM 4 Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus and The Hurt Locker are both available for download on iTunes
Richard P 5,306 Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 If Alice in Wonderland is donwload only I'll be pissed.I for one support this if it means more scores will be released.Of course if it were available in flac, that'd be even better, and some independent places already do.
Diego 21 Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I have no problem with downloading scores, in fact, since Varesse has a lot of stuff on iTunes I've been getting some scores that I either never found or were very expensive imported CDs (I've been getting a lot of Goldsmith for example, some Giacchino too). What I have a problem with is labels like Disney, that, for example, only released Up digitally, which I wouldn't have any problem with, but the thing is they don't do it worldwide, iTunes Mexico doesn't have it, the only other digital store in Mexico doesn't have it either. There's no legal way I can own Up in Mexico and that's annoying.
Ollie 1,375 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Newest Kritzerland release, due the second week of February:It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World - Ernest Goldhttp://www.kritzerland.com/mad.htm
Diego 21 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Well, this listing on Amazon seems to indicate that Alice will get a CD release, so one less thing to worry about, now it's a matter of whether it will be released here or not. Avatar wasn't released in Mexico which worries me, considering it's a big movie, it's Cameron-Horner, if any score had a chance of selling well it was Avatar, the fact that it wasn't released doesn't look good for the future.
ST-321 42 Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Newest Kritzerland release, due the second week of February:It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World - Ernest Goldhttp://www.kritzerland.com/mad.htmIt is already sold out.
Ollie 1,375 Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Yeah that one went fast.Well if anyone is interested I have the Ryko CD available for sale.
Wojo 2,458 Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Newest Kritzerland release, due the second week of February:It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World - Ernest Goldhttp://www.kritzerland.com/mad.htmIt is already sold out.Neil pointed out before, and I just double-checked again: SAE has it.http://screenarchives.com/title_detail.cfm/ID/13356/ITS-A-MAD-MAD-MAD-MAD-WORLD-1000-EDITION-PRE-ORDER/Unless they let you add items to your cart without actually having them in stock. Devious!I think the track on Exodus is enough for me.Like MovieMusic shows the Alien Intrada set being there, but it won't let me add it to my cart because it's not in stock.
Ollie 1,375 Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Yeah I keep forgetting about SAE still having them in stock. It's a shame the original tracks are missing, although Bruce Kimmel did add some of them to this release. I'm hoping somewhere down the line one someone might do a re-recording.For those curious, the album is a re-recording done by Gold at the time of the film's release, using a much smaller orchestra.
Joe Brausam 234 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I think It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World was very much a response to fan requests, as was Taras Bulba. I remember Kimmel considering looking into on the FSM board not too long after Taras Bulba shipped. I have the dialogue/music album but I gladly ordered this new issue.
Ollie 1,375 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I wouldn't mind seeing the original LP to Patton getting a release. It was a re-recording.
ST-321 42 Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Amazon just emailed me saying that the release date for Bear McCreary's "Battlestar Galactica - The Plan / Razor" has been pushed back and that my estimated arrival date February 26 2010 - March 02 2010.
Dean1700 5 Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Newest Kritzerland release, due the second week of February:It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World - Ernest Goldhttp://www.kritzerland.com/mad.htmIt is already sold out.Ah crap. I've only got the Tsunami release and I wanted this one.
Diego 21 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 According to the FSM Top 40 composers article, Elfman's score for the Wolfman has been reinstated, so good news for me at least, hopefully we'll get a release. Although this news will go unnoticed with the news that Williams won't do Potter on the same article.
Kendal_Ozzel 36 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Indeed. I just saw the news in a tweet from Doug Adams. And glad to hear it!
Wojo 2,458 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Newest Kritzerland release, due the second week of February:It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World - Ernest Goldhttp://www.kritzerland.com/mad.htmIt is already sold out.Ah crap. I've only got the Tsunami release and I wanted this one. It's sold out at Kritzerland, yes, but NOT everywhere else. ScreenArchivesEntertainment has it:http://www.screenarchives.com/title_detail.cfm/ID/13356/ITS-A-MAD-MAD-MAD-MAD-WORLD-1000-EDITION-PRE-ORDER/Of course, if they sell out before you have time to place an order, or after you've placed the pre-order, then that would be A Cruel Cruel Cruel Cruel Joke. This is like the third different thread that's received this heads up. I think this site is just becoming free advertising for SAE and MovieMusic...
Nick Parker 3,049 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 THE BENNY GOODMAN STORY/THE GLENN MILLER STORY Remastered Original RecordingMusic Composed and Adapted by Henry Mancini; Hot Record Society (UK Release)Forgive me if this a silly question, but is it possible to order a CD from Amazon.co.uk from the United States? I have been waiting a long time for this album....
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Yes it is, but you'll have to pay the import fees.
Charlie Brigden 7 Posted January 21, 2010 Author Posted January 21, 2010 Have updated to include the new FSMs and two new Vareses (THE CRAZIES and THE GHOSTWRITER). Can't find any mention of THE PLAN/RAZOR on the LLL site, so unsure about that one.
Jay 46,252 Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 That's because La La Land doesn't put any reference to their albums on their site until they are actually available for purchase.Do a simple search for Battlestar on Amazon.com and you'll see it.
Mr. Breathmask 624 Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 This topic has been unpinned, but a link to it has been added to the JWFan.net Forum Express.
Charlie Brigden 7 Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 Updated with the two new LLL releases and moved the PLAN/RAZOR date.

Kendal_Ozzel 36 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Catching up on Twitter today, I saw a post from 13 hours ago that Kritzerland just released Jarre's The Man Who Would Be King. 1000 copies, and it's already sold out.
Charlie Brigden 7 Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 Catching up on Twitter today, I saw a post from 13 hours ago that Kritzerland just released Jarre's The Man Who Would Be King. 1000 copies, and it's already sold out.Ouch.I will be updating this today, I've been slacking.
Wojo 2,458 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 To clarify, The Man Who Would Be King is sold out at Kritzerland, but other labels, such as Screen Archives Entertainment, still offer it for pre-sale. Even MovieMusic let me add it to a cart, indicating they have stock. While the mad rush is done first at the "mother" label, making it sold out there, step 2 is to remember that the distributors get a certain percentage of the low quantity limited release number.
Jay 46,252 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Basil's threads on Film Score Monthly's messageboards cover everything
Charlie Brigden 7 Posted March 12, 2010 Author Posted March 12, 2010 Is anyone still updating this? Trying to, but I've been working a lot lately, but I am planning to cover everything shortly.Or you could just go to FSM I suppose and I could just delete the whole thing.
Charlie Brigden 7 Posted March 13, 2010 Author Posted March 13, 2010 Right, less crabby this morning (yay sleep) so have updated, including more UK Mancini releases for those so inclined. Again, let me know if I've missed anything.
Charlie Brigden 7 Posted March 16, 2010 Author Posted March 16, 2010 Updated with the two new LLL releases.
