Well, the list of nominees is out, and I'm glad LOST is back with a boom. I think this is the most times it's been nominated since Season 1. The most notable nominations are Best Drama Series, Best Score ("The End"), Best Lead Actor (Matthew Fox), Best Supporting Actor (Terry O'Quinn and Michael Emerson), Best Director (Jack Bender, "The End"), and Outstanding Writing (Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, "The End").

I'm disappointed but altogether not surprised that John Noble wasn't nominated for Fringe. His subtle portrayal of Walter Bishop is one of the things I look forward to seeing every time I watch the show.

I forgot to mention the whole Conan thing. If he wins on this NBC televised event, it could be one of the greatest moments in TV history. Cause it's just not him giving the middle finger to NBC, it's the Academy and everyone involved in television.

I am not saying who is better, but I find Sean Callery outstanding. Some of the cues from 24 rival some of the best action music in movies, IMO.

It has some funny moments, but as I whole I feel it suffers from horribly cheesy endings and a lot of bad acting. Manny's great, though.

Acting skills aren't always crucial in a comedy. Look at Jerry Seinfeld - he made and starred in arguably one of the funniest sitcoms of all time, but he couldn't act his way out of a paper bag.

But having said that, I think the acting in "Modern Family" is great. It's no worse than the acting in "The Office".

Seinfeld's acting was bad in just about any other context, but within the show itself it works wonderfully. He looks like he's laughing with the audience throughout the shows, and it really makes it more enjoyable (less realistic, but more enjoyable). So I think it's good acting given what type of acting Seinfeld could have used.

But having said that, I think the acting in "Modern Family" is great. It's no worse than the acting in "The Office".

Some of it's great. Manny's the only one that always gets me. His parents, the gay couple, and the dad of that other family are pretty good (but they have more than their fair share of bad moments). But the wife of the main family and the kids are more often than not pretty bad. I think it's definitely worse than The Office acting, even if we're comparing it to the recent Office seasons and especially if we're comparing it to The Office seasons 2-4.

Disappointed LOST got next to nothing. I hoped it would receive some awards as an acknowledgment of the achievements of the series as a whole, since nothing will probably ever come up again like it (evidences by the numerous failed shows that tried to ride its coattails). Think what happened with Return of the King at the Oscars.

Nobody appreciates Aaron Paul! I wouldn't dare call his emmy a snub of O'Quinn. I'd say Paul is better than O'Quinn as an actor. In any case, he already won previously, so it's not like he went unnoticed. Aaron Paul should have won before this year anyways.

Y'know, that's interesting about Callery beating Giacchino. His 24 scoring can actually be quite good, aside from the fact that it's all electronic...I'd be interested in hearing an actual orchestra play some of his music in this vein. Obviously, Giacchino did a lot more to craft a unique (and largely acoustic) soundscape for Lost; the score for 24 is generic by comparison, but there's still a lot of cool ideas in it.
