How tall is John Towner Williams?

I've seen plenty of pictures of him, and think he's pretty tall. But you know, maybe he's not that tall at all, maybe he's sort of squat and pudgy. Perhaps all those pictures I have of him stored on my drive have actually been elongated in a graphic editor.

How tall is this man?

John Williams is actually not that tall at all. I met him several times in concerts and in rehearsals and he was smaller than me. I am 6 feet tall (in Germany: 180 cm) and he is about three or four inches smaller. I hope this information helps you.

I've always believed him to be taller than 6 feet. He just looks it. Of course, most of the photos I have seen of him are with him alone, standing on a platform to conduct or sitting down.

Thanks for pointing that out, Mark. I looked at my CD cover and they are the same height. I don't think Spielberg is more than 5'9", so Williams is probably just an inch or two taller.
