Nothing was "taken down". Some of them were never up - only the ones that I put a date next to had a live link. The rest are there so people can keep checking.

  • 1 month later...

Someone accidentally put up the artwork for the stage version on it.

UPDATE: Sony Classical just confirmed in an email to me that the US release date is Tuesday, November 22nd!

Looks like those who can't wait for the Tintin OST in US order it from Europe and the other way around with War Horse. :)

So... No word on You-Know-What-Track?

There is no strength left in the World of Sony. It is in Specialty Labels we have to place our hope. There are still several that could restore it to its proper place. To restore Picking Pockets.

One Cue to rule them all, One Cue to find them,

One Cue to bring them all and in the pockets bind them

The pressing plant manager has the initial album master in his hands with Picking Pockets still on it and John Williams urges him forward into the factory.

John Williams: "Follow Me! Manny, hurry! Press it on the CD!"

Sony pressing plant manager: "No!" (evil grin)

John Williams: Manny!!!!

(that's what the manager is called, get it. Manager= Manny. Hilarious.)

It is great that we have finally gotten official info from Sony on the subject of the release dates. They seem to have been very taciturn until now.

And then speilberg bursts in, bites off the manager's finger, and presses the CD, but is somehow (or so its thought) killed in the process.

Is the CD master lost as well? Smelted in the fires of the pressing plant?

I can just see the disappearance of this 19 track master tape and the following financial losses because of disgruntled JW fans toppling Sony's (dark) office tower.

Yes, but its duplicated on to hundreds of Lossless SuperFLAC files on CDs and CD-R's world over.

and the copies reserved for Sony, are put into a warehouse by Conrad Pope:

Can someone tell me if the cover on Amazon UK for War Horse is the legit thing or is it another variation on the fan made ones. This might have come up before but there have been so many threads and I am feeling too lazy to comb through them all.

Here is the cover on Amazon UK

If this is the legit one then I am very happy and Roald has an uncanny ability to anticipate Sony's art department's decisions. Or he has inside information. :P

I'm very excited about this release. It should be the best score of the year.

Again, congratulations to Roald for his spot-on intuition. It's not his cover, or is it?

Karol

Where did you get that? Is that the real cover art??

Wow, I was expecting WH for December, but we are getting it in a month? Fantastic news.

That seems to be the real cover, good job Incanus! David Garland did recently confirm on Facebook the cover uses the poster.

I'm going to try and avoid hearing any more of War Horse until I see the film. I decided to listen to Tintin before the film just to quench my Williams thirst, but I can wait for War Horse. I want to experience the music for the first time with the images it was composed for... and I don't want the ending ruined reading the track list! ;)

Matthew_Lucas Matthew Lucas- New John Williams music. I'm in heaven. WAR HORSE is a gorgeous, classic Williams score. I've missed this.

@Matthew_Lucas (OST impressions only):New John Williams music. I’m in heaven. WAR HORSE is a gorgeous, classic Williams score. I’ve missed this. John Williams will get his 47th Oscar nomination for WAR HORSE, no question. Maybe a 48th for TINTIN. Whoa. There’s a brief moment in “No Man’s Land” where Williams goes all PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN on us. OMG…the solo piano version of the main theme in “Remembering Emilie, and Finale” is breaking my heart. WAR HORSE first impression – Lacks the usual Williams concert suite of the main theme, but the overall score is a fantastic return to form. As Williams’ first dramatic score in 6 years, it is a godsend to fans, and one of the maestro’s finest in years. The final track, “Homecoming,” is a breathtaking 8 minute summation of the score’s themes. Tremendous Williams material.

A promising first impression. Although I could not have for the life of me (I am of course looking through the rosy coloured JW glasses) spotted Williams going all POTC on the track No Man's Land.
