The Orioles baseball team will host John Williams as a special guest on Monday, June 11, for the club’s 7:05 p.m. ET game against the Boston Red Sox. Williams will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the game, as the Orioles celebrate his illustrious five-decade career in the performing arts.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy a pregame selection of Williams’ famous scores performed by members of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s brass and percussion sections and led by Music Director Marin Alsop, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Select members of the BSO will later accompany the Stevensville Middle School choir for the national anthem. Throughout the game, the Orioles will incorporate Williams’ music to recognize the contributions of one of America’s greatest living composers.
Williams will team up with Alsop to lead the BSO on Wednesday, June 13, for An Evening with John Williams at 8 p.m. at Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. For more information, please visit www.BSOmusic.org.
