Decca Records US and Deutsche Grammophon have announced John Williams Legacy, a collection of recent live and studio performances of John Williams themes, featuring the Maestro conducting the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Wiener Philharmoniker, and the Recording Arts Orchestra of Los Angeles.
The track list draws from three of Williams’ recent releases, including 2019’s Across the Stars with violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter, and concert performances in Vienna and Berlin. The set includes a booklet with new liner notes from film music historian Jon Burlingame, detailing Williams’ impact on modern classical music.
The album will be available on CD, digital platforms, and as a 180-gram “gold nugget” double vinyl set, which includes gold foil accents on the gatefold packaging.
