Charlie Brigden 7
Could it be a mixture of different concerts? The concert in 2001 started with Star Trek: First Contact and ended with a suite from Rudy. It included the medley of television themes. Goldsmith conducted Alien and Twilight Zone: The Movie in the second of the concerts at the Barbican the previous year. He also did a couple of concerts with the LSO in 2003 but I don't recall him doing Rambo.I'm not helping much, am I? You're helping plenty I'm not sure if it is a mixture, as the comments he gives all seem to come from the same concert, and he speaks about some of the pieces that precede/succeed them, such as ALIEN and Rambo.Edit: My memory serves me well, it also features the prologue from THE AGONY AND THE ECTASY, which if I remember correctly was being premiered as a concert piece. Although I could be getting mixed up, but it's definitely in there.I've just about solved it. The concert itself was on August 18th, 1989 (which explains the inclusion of STAR TREK V). What follows is what I've been able to make out:DISC ONE1. STAR TREK V (End Title)2. Introduction3. Motion Picture Medley (unsure which ones, but I think it ends with THE WIND AND THE LION)4. Goldsmith on Twilight Zone5. TWILIGHT ZONE: THE MOVIE (Overture)6. Goldsmith on Alien7. ALIEN (Main Title)8. Goldsmith on Rambo9. FIRST BLOOD Suite10. Goldsmith on Hoosiers11. HOOSIERSDISC TWO1. CAPRICORN ONE2. Goldsmith on The Agony and the Ecstasy3. THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY (Prologue)4. Goldsmith on Schaffner and Lionheart5. LIONHEART6. Goldsmith on Under Fire7. UNDER FIRE8. Goldsmith on Television9. TV Medley (again not sure, but it includes The Waltons)10. Goldsmith on Patton and McCarthur11. 'THE GENERALS' SuiteFrom what I understand from a post on FSM from earlier this year, it was broadcast on BBC Radio.
Omen II 1,255
3. Motion Picture Medley (unsure which ones, but I think it ends with THE WIND AND THE LION)9. TV Medley (again not sure, but it includes The Waltons)This is pure speculation on my part, Charlie, but if those medleys consisted of the same selections as the ones recorded by Goldsmith with the Philharmonia Orchestra in 1987 (which seems at least possible), they would be as follows:Motion Picture MedleyThe Sand Pebbles / Chinatown / A Patch of Blue / Poltergeist / Papillon / The Wind and the LionTV Themes MedleyThe Man from U.N.C.L.E / Doctor Kildare / Room 222 / The Waltons / Barnaby JonesThe CD was reissued in 2001 as Goldsmith Conducts Goldsmith on the Silva Screen label if you need to confirm. I know when he conducted these medleys with the LSO in the new century they included extra selections (I distinctly recall Air Force One in the movie medley and Star Trek:Voyager in the TV medley, for example). Pieter Boelen 762
Did really nobody do Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by Nicholas Hooper?I haven't listened properly to it yet, but I don't want to until it's in the proper order.I hate listening to music that is seriously out of order.Especially if I so very well know the story that accompanies it. The titles seem pretty specific.
Maxxie 1
Re: Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince. It's already in chronological order, apart from:2) "In Noctem" - I believe this was originally going to score Dumbledore's Funeral, but they changed their minds. It works nicely as an Overture to the film/album though. 6) "Wizard Wheezes" - This is not used in the film (don't know why; it would've worked well I think). Instead, they used the "Fireworks" track from Harry Potter & The Order Of The Phoenix. Whether that was a new recording for this film, or was simply tracked, I don't know. 28) "The Weasley Stomp" - I'm not sure about this track. I can't remember it in the film. It's possibly there somewhere, or it could also be unused. See if you can spot the recurring motif about halfway through that sounds very similar to Michael Giacchino's Star Trek..... John Takis 242
Here's my chronological re-edit of Hans Zimmer's SHERLOCK HOLMES. No PMs asking for files, please ... this is only a guide on how to do it yourself:01. Sherlock Holmes (2:13) = Track 13This is the exclusive track "Holmes (Hans 'n Guy Version)" that was available through iTunes with a ticket pre-order. I don't know how (or if) you can get it now. Anyway, it's a straight "album version" of the main theme. It makes a good "overture."02. First Point Of Attack (4:02) = Track 01 [0:00-0:21] / Track 07Instead of a hard cut to Track 07, I faded it in slightly as the last bit of the Track 01 portion faded out. I also cross-faded slightly with the next track...03. Be Gentle With Me (1:03) = Track 04 [0:00-1:02]This is from the opening Baker St. scene. To disguise the necessarily abrupt ending, I cross-faded slightly with the next track...04. "Royale Medley" [German Dance No. 10 (Beethoven) / Adagio Op. 1 No. 3 (Haydn)] (3:02)This is my own (substantially shortened) edit of the two classical pieces that play under the dinner scene. You can find them on the soundtrack for THE DUCHESS; it's the recording used in the film.05. The Lady Insists (1:50) = Track 0906. "The Rocky Road To Dublin" [Traditional (The Dubliners with Luke Kelly)] (2:28)This recording is from the 60s or 70s (I think), but it's a traditional Irish period piece that would have been common in Holmes' era. Available on numerous CDs, on iTunes, Amazon's mp3 store, etc.07. Only The Beginning (3:28) = Track 04 [1:03-End]08. Allow Me To Explain (1:22) = Track 02 [1:29-End]I did a little bit of looping at the beginning to account for the cross-faded bit. 09. The Irene I Know (1:43) = Track 0310. Depravity (0:55) = Track 12 [0:00-0:55]11. A Social Visit (2:15) = Track 0512. Newfound Power (1:34) = Track 02 [0:00-1:28]This one was exceedingly tricky to give a decent ending to, and you may not want to bother. Basically, I borrowed from the last note of Track 10, lowering the pitch and mixing it in. This cue is not actually in the film, but my belief is that it's an alternate cue for the scene where Blackwood reveals himself to his followers.13. A Figure Of Speech (2:38) = Track 1014. Get Out Of Here (2:13) = Track 0815. Whatever It Takes (3:15) = Track 06This track is abridged in the film somewhat. The intro, from 0:00-0:47, I could not identify ... but I suspect it was meant to go here, and would have played under Holmes at Watson's hospital bed.16. Unorthodox (4:49) = Track 11 [0:00-4:49]I elected to re-index the huge, penultimate track into its component cues for easier listening. Otherwise, it's unedited (apart from the few minutes towards the end that Zimmer cut when he made the album).17. England's Destiny (6:12) = Track 11 [4:50-11:02]18. Conjuring Tricks (4:57) = Track 11 [11:03-16:00]19. The Storm's Coming (2:18) = Track 11 [16:01-End]20. An Obvious Fact (2:22) = Track 12 [0:56-3:16]Cross-faded every-so-slightly with the next track...21. Case Reopened (2:03) = Track 01 [0:22-End]This is the first orchestral part of the end credits.22. The Game's Afoot (3:27) = Track 12 [3:17-End]This is the second orchestral part of the end credits. The song "The Rocky Road To Dublin" (see above) separates the two parts.Enjoy! Corrections welcome...

fommes 155
E.T.: The Extra-TerrestrialJason's Complete Cue List, including a detailed breakdown of the different "Escape / Chase / Saying Goodbye" versions. My editing guide:Needed: OST, 1996 CD (Special Edition), 2002 CD (20th Ann.), Isolated score (Laserdisc-rip)- Editing guide with as little editing as possible, yet still precise. I wasn't fussy about any possible sound quality differences between the SE and the Ann. CDs; and neither about switching from one to the other (which was sometimes necessary to cut down on the editing work).- In most cases there's a (not always mentioned) reason I selected either the SE or the Ann. track. In the very few cases it didn't matter which of the two, I opted for the SE.- Most of the original versions of the cues are on the first CD: in this way there's a first 'intended' version of the complete score on CD 1, with CD 2 containing revisions and OST-rerecordings.Of course: in most cases you can just switch them around depending on what you prefer to have on CD 1.- If you stick strictly to the OST order for the second CD, it isn't a very good listening experience, as there's too much repetition in the second half of the CD. Therefore, I put the two tracks that are basically presentations of themes and have no straightforward corresponding film cue, as openers. (The end credits is almost a reprise of those two tracks.)CD 101 Main Titles(Original cue title unknown.)ANN 01 (fix ending)02 The Forest (Revised) / Keyes ArrivesSE 01(2002 CD shortens the sustained note between the cues.)03 The Cornfield(Original cue title unknown.)ISO04 Looking for E.T.SE 02(2002 CD fades in slightly later.)05 The First MeetingANN 0406 Into the HouseANN 05 0:00-1:2307 Meeting E.T.SE 0308 E.T. and ElliotSE 0409 In the ClosetSE 05(2002 CD fades out slightly sooner.)10 E.T.'s MagicSE 06 (fix ending)(2002 CD fades out slightly sooner.)11 Mary Searches the ClosetISO12 E.T. Raids the IceboxANN 1013 E.T. Gets an IdeaANN 11(This is the same edit as in the film at 2:01; the 1996 CD lacks the brief silence. Also, the ending would need fixing with SE 08.)14 Elliot's First Kiss(Original cue title is: "The Quiet Man (Victor Young)", however:the snippet taken from The Quiet Man wasn't composed by Young, but a song he adapted called “The Isle Of Innisfree”, by Richard Farrelly.)ISO15 Bedtime StoriesSE 0916 HalloweenSE 10(2002 CD fades out slightly sooner.)17 E.T.'s MachineSE 11(2002 CD omits second of silence at 2:12.)18 Michael's Search (Original Version)SE 1219 Keyes Enters the HouseSE 1320 Stay with Me (Original Version)ANN 17(SE 14 ending is incomplete.)21 He Came to MeANN 18(SE 15 opening is mixed with previous track.)22 E.T. Phones HomeSE 16(2002 track is the edited film version.)23 The Rescue / The Bike Chase / The Departure (Original Version)ANN 20(The SE track doesn't have a clean ending. It also has 2 seconds silence before The Departure. The Ann. track also runs slightly better in the first half; but perhaps has the Departure segue slightly soon.)24 End Credits (Original Version)SE 18 (fix opening) 0:00-0:49 + Ann. 21 0:45-end(In the SE track the trumpets make an error at around 0:57.)CD 201 Over the MoonOST 0702 FlyingOST 05(These first two tracks can be switched of course, depending on which one you prefer to open the CD.)03 The Forest (Album Version)OST 0104 Abandoned and Pursued (Concert Version)OST 0205 E.T. and Me (Concert Version)OST 0306 E.T.'s Halloween (Concert Version)OST 0407 Michael's Search (Film Version)ANN 1508 Stay with Me (Film Version)ISO09 E.T. Phones Home (Film Edit)ANN 1910 The Rescue / The Bike Chase / The Departure (Revised Version)OST 08(Very strictly speaking, this is not the exact film version, as it has the horn overlay at 12:42 absent everywhere else. Also, you need to edit out the 4-second silence before The Departure, if you want the film version. All the rest matches up perfectly with the film version, including the bad edit at around 13:45.)So, the beauty of selecting the Ann. track as the original version and the OST track as a so-called film version, is that they're perfectly complementary, and you don't need editing at all (if you don't mind listening to that bad edit). What you end up with then is the original version on CD 1, and the revised version with all the overlays on your CD 2.11 End Credits (Film Version)ANN 21Optional bonus tracks to be placed wherever you think they fit best:- Universal Pictures Logo (E.T.: The 20th Anniversary)- E.T. Bryant Burnette 692
Has anyone done "The Plan & Razor" yet?I can't even get them sumbitches at Amazon to mail me the damned thing; they've been hanging onto that and the Season 4 soundtrack for about a week now. Presumably, they'll actually send them to me at some point.Speaking of McCreary, does anybody know if the Caprica CD is in proper order? It seems like a few tracks might be misordered, but I'm too lazy to pull out the DVD and actually check.I know there are threads on this around here, too, but it can't hurt to quote this:Thanks for that post! Very informative.Hopefully, someday such a release will actually happen.

Charlie Brigden 7
This probably won't appeal to most here, but here's a cue breakdown of Top Gun.
Wojo 2,456
Charlie Bridgen, you're my hero. I've got the OST and found some of the instrumental tracks a while back, and only put them onto my iPod recently. I was actually listening to it about two hours ago before I switched to something else.

Wojo 2,456
I'm not sure why the last five tracks are just chants. I don't recall them being in the movie, though I didn't watch the complete end credits.

Charlie Brigden 7
I think they're all pretty much in order, although 27 through 31 are alternates, and 18, 25 and 36 all have microedits.
Wojo 2,456
Thanks, I was wondering. If Horner had assembled the album, five of those tracks would have been omitted, and the others would have been interspersed with tracks 1-15 to make a better listening experience. Charlie Brigden 7
I'm hoping it gets expanded at some point, as there's some pretty integral cues missing, such as 'The Bottle Breaks', 'Frying Ktarian Eggs', and 'Kirk's Horse'.
