John Williams has received his 51st Academy Award Nomination for his original score to Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The other nominees in the Original Score category are Carter Burwell for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Alexandre Desplat for The Shape of Water, Johnny Greenwood for Phantom Thread, and Hans Zimmer for Dunkirk.
Another Williams-scored film, Steven Spielberg’s The Post, received nominations for Best Picture and Best Actress, while Dear Basketball, also scored by Williams, has been nominated in the Best Animated Short Film category.
The 90th Academy Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 4 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
