We welcomed conductor Anna Handler back to the Walt Disney Concert Hall stage for three performances of Rachmaninoff’s “Symphonic Dances” and John Williams’ Trumpet Concerto—and what a wonderful time it was!
The former Dudamel Fellow brought new energy and excitement to the program, which also spotlighted the expertise of Principal Trumpet Thomas Hooten. After crowd-funding and self-producing his own recording of John Williams’ concerto, Hooten skyrocketed all the way to No. 1 on the iTunes classical chart. An appearance by the legendary composer in the crowd made this program all the more special!
