On June 23, The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) bestowed the Exceptional Public Achievement Medal for John Williams‘ “outstanding achievement in creating unique musical compositions about space exploration, inspiring millions of people through the medium of music.”
Williams received the award during his visit to the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, where he attended his 90th Birthday Gala Concert conducted by Stéphane Denève.
Congratulations to John Williams on receiving the Exceptional Public Achievement Medal. His unforgettable film scores, including Star Wars, have inspired curiosity in many of us. We’ve been fortunate to incorporate his work into NASA concerts at the @KenCen and around the world. https://t.co/0gFHOvFOlh
