John Williams Cancels Vienna Performances, ‘Looks Forward to Rescheduling the Concerts’

The Vienna Philharmonic has announced that the two John Williams performances scheduled for December 7 and 8 in the Austrian capital have been cancelled due to Williams’ recent health issue, from which he is currently recovering.

According to the announcement, the Maestro plans to reschedule the two concerts at Vienna’s Musikverein ‘at the soonest opportunity’:

The Vienna Philharmonic and the Musikverein Wien regret to announce that the concerts on 7 and 8 December 2024 with John Williams have to be cancelled.

Due to a recent health issue from which he is expected to make a full recovery, John Williams regrets that he is unable to perform his concerts this December with Thomas Adès and the Vienna Philharmonic. Maestro Williams greatly looks forward to rescheduling his concerts in Vienna at the soonest opportunity.

Williams’ scheduled performances for next year include two concerts in Los Angeles (April 3 & 4) and three in Berlin (June 5, 6 & 7).
